Autek is a technical design company specialising in timber frame and SIP construction.
Our roots are in on-site timber frame construction, so our plans and drawings are the direct result of our experience of trying to solve real problems in real time.
Garden Rooms
We specialise in serving the garden room and non-residential construction industry, which needs clarity of design, accurate material estimation and clear communication with both trades and clients, without the excess detail and cost of a full architectural design service.
We aim to put clear details in the hands of trades on site, answering the questions they have before they arise, so projects run smoothly and your clients get the best service possible.
We can provide this in the form of complete drawing packs, taking your design drawings, sketches and renders and transforming them into a set of floor, wall and roof plans.
These packs can also include additional details such as electrical and lighting layouts, material quantities, specific details for complex intersections, and foundation layouts for both groundscrews and traditional foundations.
For some of our clients, we provide just one area of design, such as SIP panel layouts, where we take the building design drawings and convert them into a set of dimensioned panel drawings for both manufacturing and on-site assembly.
Likewise, some clients require us to turn their design drawings into traditional stick-built timber frame construction, with quantities calculated and materials optimised.
Pricing
Standard Drawing Packs
A lot of our clients use our drawing packs as part of their operational process. Having produced their own design — whether from hand sketches, design drawings or AI renders — once the sale is secured, they send this information to us and we produce a set of floor, wall and roof plans in their construction style.
For standard projects, these basic packs are usually produced within around 48 hours of receiving the design information, at a fixed price of £120 + VAT.
If required, the drawing set can be produced incorporating your business logo for consistent branding and client presentation.
Additional Services & Pricing
Additional aspects or plans can be produced as required, including:
Timber frame material quantities — £40 + VAT per project
Lengths of timber optimised for minimal wastage, along with quantities for sheet materials, flooring, walling and roofing.
Electrical layout — £40 + VAT per project
Power and lighting layouts, including positions shown on wall elevations where required.
Groundscrew layout — £65 + VAT per project
Using the site information provided, we can produce a groundscrew setting-out plan incorporating orientation and agreed level reference points. This can include provision for client sign-off, creating a clear record of the agreed building position and finished floor level for both the client and contractor. Final dimensions, levels and site conditions remain subject to confirmation on site before work begins.
Other details — typically £40–£80 + VAT per project
Some companies like to incorporate additional information as standard within their packs, providing clear instructions for contractors and making discussions with clients easier. Your specific requirements can be discussed and incorporated into your standard drawing package.
